Movies, "Tropic Thunder" was uproar by using the word "delay" Why? I heard hundreds of movies?
Why http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/12082008/5/tropic-thunder-greeted-storm-protest-0.html protests by the use of the word "retard?" I heard hundreds of films on children, television with children, and when I was in American schools I've heard many children calling other children slows. It's just a common term that has lost its original meaning. Millions of American children the other kids call "nerds" every day. And in movies and television. DELAY is today, "children of street slang and have not the connotations of origin. I think the U.S. is becoming more and more like the United Kingdom in the politically correct. In general, we follow the U.S. but the political correctness of the United States is following us.
FIRST! Children should not watch this movie and the adults who should be mature enough to take the vulgarity. They are not abusive, I do not like it, but I'm not going to boycott a film or program or to make music that said. I can not hear / see! Second, if children do not watch the film to his parents with a best jump of the same and teach their children why that word hurts people instead of protecting "their" ears. That is why we have so much trouble now, we always try to protect children! The word will never go away, and can still be used pejoratively. The difference for people who watch the film and is not offended us are mature enough to know the next time you see a person with mental illness do not go blasting the unfortunate and "R"-word!
