movies on demand hdtv

Ok, HDTV, 1080p.. now what? What else do I get to maximize and use the full 1080p?
ok so I recently bought the Samsung LN37A550 HDTV, 1080p.. I love it..
I use it for when I occasionally watch HD on Demand videos.. and to watch HD channels.. but I mostly use it as a second display for my Macbook Pro..
But watching movies from my comp on my tv, you can see the poor quality of the movies.. I’m not going to lie I have a friend that passes along pirated movies to me.
But I don’t care what I have to do! I want to maximize the potential of my television. I WANT THE 1080P FULL EXPERIENCE! WHAT DO I BUY NEXT? SERIOUSLY..
what do I do next? I have my xbox 360 hooked up in hd already. But now for movies? Do I get a blu-ray player?
And let’s say if I were to get pirated Blu-ray movies on my laptop would it be able to play on my Samsung in 1080p..
Thanks in advice for your many criticisms, facts and suggestions.
HD cable or satellite. Satellite usually has more HD channels. A dvd upconverter rated at 1080/24p or an expensive way to go is BluRay with a minimal improvement over u/c dvd. (Use widescreen standard dvd for the best u/c results). Be sure to connect the peripherals with an HDMI cable.
